Certificate of Islamic Investment
The Certificate of Islamic Investment (COII) is a fixed-deposit investment available for various tenures. COII is the Islamic version of conventional term deposit schemes. COII is governed under the rules of the profit and loss sharing (PLS) system under Mudarabah, a mode of Islamic Financing, with a vision to provide a stable profit rate till maturity.
Mudarabah is an Islamic financial instrument that allows investors to participate in business activities while adhering to Shariah principles. Mudarabah is generally used to accept deposits from depositors.
The purpose of COII is primarily to offer fixed-term deposit products that cater to the specific requirements in terms of investment for a particular period/tenure and fulfil the customer’s requirements by providing the profit as per the agreed terms by the customer.
